Recently, the damages lawsuit BELIFT LAB is pursuing against former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin has resurfaced the supposed conflict between NJZ (NewJeans) and ILLIT.
Claims that ILLIT were the group that NJZ’s Hanni accused of participating in workplace bullying were only intensified by the accusations of plagiarism made. Min Hee Jin claimed that the company plagiarized NJZ when developing ILLIT’s concept, sparking hate against ILLIT.

Recently, the social media activity of Danielle’s sister, Olivia Marsh, has raised eyebrows.
In late November, ILLIT released their track “Not Cute Anymore.” The song has become a viral hit, as a TikTok challenge using the track has taken off, even being done by international celebrities like NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal.

On her YouTube account, Olivia Marsh participated in the trend, but used her own song “First December With You” instead of the ILLIT track.
The usage of the trend with out the song has sparked criticism, accusing the Marsh of “shading” ILLIT along with other insults.
Other have pointed out that some groups have done the trend without including the music, meaning it was not targeted against ILLIT. Additionally, some felt she was just promoting her own song, since Christmas is so near.
