Hello, this is Han Bo Bae. It’s been a while since I last shared any news. I debated for a long time about whether to share this or not, but I decided to gather my courage and write this post.
After walking the path of an actress for over 20 years, I’ve temporarily stepped away from acting and am currently living an ordinary office-worker life. Having lived an irregular lifestyle ever since my school days, I’m experiencing a regular 9-to-6 routine for the first time, and it’s been far more satisfying than I expected.
There are many reasons behind this decision, but the biggest one was the feeling that it would be a shame to live my life with just one profession. Since I started acting at such a young age, I also wanted to challenge myself in a different world. There were moments when I seriously wondered whether I should continue acting, but perhaps because I had held on to it for so long, I often felt confused—my ambition ran ahead of me, and I couldn’t clearly tell what the right choice was. So I finally put into action the thought I had kept in my heart for a long time: Let’s try something else.
I’ve come to realize just how unpredictable life really is. That’s why I don’t want to say definitively, ‘I’ll never act again.’ Someday, as time passes, I might be auditioning for mother roles, or I might still be working at a company, counting down the days until Friday.
