Nam Bo Ra confessed that her husband was single since birth and revealed their love story from their first meeting to marriage.
On the January 3rd episode of JTBC variety show Knowing Bros, Nam Bo Ra admitted that her husband had been single since birth. She began, “I didn’t know either. He started dating late. I first met him when I was 33, and you wouldn’t think he was single since birth at that age. When we went on dates, he never held my hand.”
Nam Bo Ra continued, “We officially started dating because he liked me, but I kept wondering, ‘Why doesn’t he hold my hand?’ After the date, I asked him, ‘Why don’t you hold my hand?’ and he said, ‘I’ve never held a woman’s hand before.’”
When the cast members responded that it sounded like a pickup line, she emphasized, “That wasn’t a pickup line—it was totally real. Why do you have to dress up my pure husband like that?”
Then Kim Heechul asked, “Are you usually the one who takes the lead?” Nam Bo-ra answered, “I taught him a lot. I’m usually led, but when I try to lead, I get very shy. There’s no way around it if you want the relationship to progress,” making everyone laugh as her face turned bright red.
Feeling shy, Nam Bo Ra joked, “I taught and helped my husband grow up a lot and upgrade him into an adult.”
Regarding her single-since-birth husband, she complained, “I don’t know if this is an advantage or disadvantage, but the advantage is that once you input the data, you get a result. The disadvantage is he really doesn’t understand women’s feelings.”
When asked about their first meeting, Nam Bo Ra recalled, “We met while volunteering. At first, he didn’t even talk much, so I thought he was a quiet guy, but even then, he was helping me with the volunteering work like a satellite by my side, so naturally I started to like him.”
Nam Bo Ra even claimed that she took the lead with the marriage proposal. She said, “I was the one who did it first. I think he had marriage on his mind but couldn’t bring it up, so on my way home, I asked him, ‘Shall we get married?’ He replied, ‘Bo Ra, when are you free? Let’s do it when you have time.’”
Meanwhile, the cast members were curious about what the proposal from such a pure man was like. Nam Bo Ra answered, “It was truly pure. Very genuinely touching.”
She shared, “It was really unexpected. We went on a trip to Tokyo. My husband always prepares the trips. That day, we went to a fancy outdoor restaurant with a view of Tokyo Tower.”
Continuing, she said, “While I was eating, saying how happy I was, my husband went to the restroom and, as soon as he sat back down, he opened a small blue case. That moment was fleeting. When it opened, something sparkled inside. It might sound materialistic, but it really shone brightly. I was smiling, tears came to my eyes, it was so touching,” recounting the moment and making everyone laugh.
