Girl Group Announces Disbandment Just Four Months After Their Debut
A rookie idol group is saying goodbye to fans just months after their debut.
DorothyDrop is a Japanese girl group that formed on August 16, 2025 and made their stage debut on September 24, 2025. Their concept takes inspiration from Gothic and horror aesthetics. The group has four former members and three current members: Maze Usa, Meidou Hitsugi, and Lei.
On January 6, 2026, DorothyDrop announced that the contract for one of their members, Nikoto Ramu, had been terminated due to serious, unspecified contract violations.
Just half an hour later, DorothyDrop announced their disbandment, revealing that their group activities with the remaining three members would end on January 16, 2026. The decision comes after multiple discussions among the current members, following the withdrawal of three DorothyDrop members between November 30 and December 29, 2025.
All of DorothyDrop’s scheduled activities after January 16 have been canceled.
Sadly for fans, this isn’t the only goodbye they have had to say since the New Year began.
