Tukutz: The first time I found out about SEVENTEEN was when Vernon appeared on ‘Show Me The Money’.
D.K.: That was probably around 2016?
Tukutz: Yeah, we were like, who is that DiCaprio?
D.K.: We got our name known through him being on the show.
Tablo: Vernon was so handsome.

Seungkwan also revealed that Vernon received much hate due to the image of idol rappers back then.
Seungkwan: Vernon’s voice was in poor condition, and back then, many people despised idol rappers and used that to make malicious edits.
Tablo: It wasn’t jealousy, it was them just flat-out hating on them.
D.K.:Weren’t you a judge then?
Tablo: Judge? Ah yeah. But it wasn’t really judging, but thinking, ‘He’s really handsome’.

They also confessed that they used to fight in the comments to defend Vernon.
Seungkwan: To us, he’s our baby, but seeing him get hated on in bad condition made us so frustrated, so I read all the comments and would fight back and say things like ‘He hasn’t debuted yet’ and ‘Why are you saying that?’ with my anonymous ID.
Tablo: Were you guys in your teens then? Ah, then I totally understand. It’s not like you went out on the show because you wanted to. If you think about it, Vernon was probably much stronger than the others on the show. That’s why he was able to push through and continue his career for this long.
