Voice actress Seon Eun Hye of Black Rubber Shoes has passed away at the age of 40.
The late Seon Eun Hye passed away on the 17th. The news was shared by fellow voice actor Jung Sung Hoon through his social media, but the exact cause of death has not been disclosed.
Born in 1985, she joined the KBS Voice Acting Theater in 2011 as part of its 36th class and worked as a freelancer from 2013 until 2024.
She is survived by her husband, Choi Jae Ho, chairman of the Korea Voice Actor Association, and their son. She was originally Choi Jae Ho’s student during her trainee days, later marrying him.
Following the announcement, condolences poured in from fellow voice actors. Senior Chae Eui Jin mourned, “Beautiful junior Eun Hye… Rest in peace,” while Nam Do Hyung wrote, “I will never forget the time we spent together. My deepest condolences.” Junior Kim Ga Ryeong also posted, “Rest in peace, senior Seon Eun Hye.”
