BIGHIT Music Makes Official Statement About Rumored Free BTS Concert
The group BTS is preparing a comeback commemorative performance.
BIGHIT Music, BTS’s agency, told Newsen on January 19 regarding the free concert rumors at Gwanghwamun Square, “Discussions are currently underway, and once the venue, schedule, and other details are finalized, official announcements will be made.”
The agency recently applied to the Cultural Heritage Administration for permission to use and film at locations including Gwanghwamun Square, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Sungnyemun Gate. The review of this request is scheduled for 2pm on the 20th at the Cultural Heritage Committee.
BTS, who concluded their group activities hiatus due to military service, will make a comeback on March 20 with their fifth full album ARIRANG. The new release contains a total of 14 tracks. The members chose ARIRANG, a representative Korean folk song, as the title and included BTS’s identity and emotions they want to share with their fans in this album.
BTS will kick off their new world tour on April 9 at Goyang Sports Complex. The tour will be held in a total of 79 shows across 34 cities worldwide, marking the highest number of shows in K-pop history. With additional concerts planned in Japan and the Middle East, the tour’s scale is expected to expand further.
BTS will be the first Korean artists to perform at multiple stadiums including El Paso, Foxborough, Arlington, and Baltimore in the U.S. They also plan to feature a 360-degree stage production to maximize on-site immersion.
