Scandal-Ridden Actor Attempts Radio Comeback—Met With Fiery Reactions
A debate has erupted over actor Lee Yi Kyung’s return to entertainment programming following a massive scandal involving his personal life.

On February 7, 2026 (KST), SBS PowerFM’s Cultwo Show announced that Lee Yi Kyung will be one of its two special DJs, set to host the radio show on February 12 from 2 PM to 4 PM. The production team added, “Lee Yi Kyung is a familiar and welcome face. Enjoy his special DJ hosting through live listening and the ‘viewable radio.’ We also welcome lots of real-time text participation.”

Lee Yi Kyung’s appearance on the Cultwo Show would mark his first official comeback about four months after his personal-life controversy surfaced. As such, it is being interpreted as a signal of his return following a period in which he was effectively removed from variety shows.
Public opinion, however, appears divided.

Some netizens reacted negatively, saying things like, “Wasn’t he just involved in a controversy?”, “Is this really the right time for a comeback?”, and “It feels sudden and unsettling.” On the other hand, others offered opposing views, commenting, “I’m looking forward to it,” and “He has plenty of experience, so he’ll probably do well.”
Actor Lee Yi Kyung Now Accused of “Unsending” His Dirty DMs To Alleged Victim
Lee Yi Kyung became entangled in a messy scandal last October after a German woman claimed that she had engaged in explicit conversations with him. At the time, his agency announced it was preparing legal action, stating, “We are taking a strong stance against the spread of false information and malicious rumors.” The woman first apologized, saying she had manipulated the posts using AI, but soon after posted another statement expressing that she felt wronged, reversing her position and adding to the confusion.
As a result of the controversy, Lee Yi Kyung abruptly stepped down from his regular role on MBC’s Hangout With Yoo (which, in the process, created its own string of scandals) and also withdrew from his scheduled show host position on KBS’s The Return of Superman.
