BTS’s V Gets “Scammed” By Rising Artist, Sparks Major Concerns
With the speedy advancement of generative AI, many unsuspecting people are now vulnerable to being tricked by it. BTS member V appears to be the latest victim.

Recently, V made a post on his Instagram updating fans on his recent whereabouts. He attached a song to the post, namely, “Where Your Warmth Begins,” by artist Sienna Rose.

The artist then posted on social media, thanking V for using her song, which prompted ARMYs to look up more details about her.

Only then did fans realize that Sienna Rose was not a human, but an AI-generated “artist.” According to recent reports, popular streaming platforms are now pushing AI-generated music under the names of made-up artists. Apart from the songs, these artists have a full-blown online presence, completely curated using AI. So, from their visuals to their voices, everything is artificially constructed.
This discovery immediately sparked heated reactions online. While some criticized V for promoting AI-generated music, others defended him, arguing that he was possibly unaware, like millions of other people who are getting fooled by AI-generated content.

Multiple BTS members have previously taken a strong stance against AI-generated art. Hence, it is highly probable that V’s move was not intentional, which only deepens the question: if artists are falling for AI-generated music, what would the future of the industry look like?
