In the finale of Netflix‘s Single’s Inferno 5, some singles left the island as part of a couple, while others left alone.
During the course of the show, Kim Go Eun connected with a few male singles, including Shin Hyeon Woo, Woo Seung Min, and the mid-season “game changer” Jo I Geon. In the end, Go Eun chose Seung Min over I Geon and Hyeon Woo and left the island with him.
Her decision shocked the judges, but some viewers aren’t too surprised.

During his Paradise date with Go Eun, I Geon repeatedly mentioned another female cast member, Lee Ha Eun, which seemed to get on Go Eun’s nerves.
For some viewers, this was the moment when they knew it would be the end of I Geon and Go Eun’s budding romance.
This is the most emotion we’ve seen from Go-eun. And from this moment, I knew it's the end for I-geon.

As a woman, I HATE when a man pursuing me mentions another woman in front of me. And I-geon did this not just once, twice, or thrice, but he kept poking Go-eun.

On a popular Single’s Inferno subreddit, viewers discussed this moment, with some classifying I Geon’s behaviour as “negging.” Negging, a term coined by pickup artists, is a manipulation tactic that involves giving a romantic interest backhanded compliments to undermine their confidence and/or making flirtatious remarks about someone else in front of them.
