15-Year-Old Actress Exposed For Smoking And Drinking — Activities Suspended

A 15-year-old actress recently had to put her career on hold after some illegal behavior was discovered.

Recently, an image of model and actress Momose Yumena circulated online. The image, from the young idol’s first year of high school, showed her sitting and holding what has since been identified as an electronic cigarette.

Shortly after the image went viral, Momose’s agency announced that not only had she smoked, but that she also engaged in underage drinking. The legal drinking and smoking age in Japan is 20 years old.

The company also said that it would not be firing her, as she had expressed true remorse

We have confirmed with Momose that the photos of her smoking that have been circulating on social media are genuine. We have also confirmed that she has been drinking alcohol. […] We will not fire her, but will instead provide her with a period of rehabilitation and provide guidance and supervision to help her fulfill her responsibilities as a member of society.
