After footage was revealed of an ILLIT member tossing items into a basket and swinging a shopping cart around at a Don Quijote store, some Japanese netizens responded with comments such as, “She was raised too crudely,” and “She has no class.”
It’s hard to say just from watching the video whether these reactions are excessive or not. What do you all think?

However, many Korean netizens pushed back against the criticism.
They argued that the reactions were exaggerated and that the video simply showed a young idol casually shopping. Some also pointed out that similar behavior is common in everyday grocery shopping and does not warrant such strong backlash.

- “I thought from the title she was bothering other people with the basket cart or something, but why is that getting hate??”
- “They’re seriously overreacting.”
- “Japanese people are seriously so damn sensitive lol. They make a fuss over literally anything.”
- “All I got from this is that Wonhee is cute.”
- “Everyone shops like that. Don’t lie, seriously.”
- “Huh??? Why is this even a controversy lol. Japan really is on a whole different level.”
While the controversy continues to gain attention online, others believe the issue has been blown out of proportion. What are your thoughts?
