Celebrity Seo Ha Yan, wife of veteran singer Lim Chang Jung, revealed her rapid weight-gain recovery tips. She lost a total of 31kg (60 lbs) post-pregnancy and has been maintaining a weight of 52 to 54kg (114 to 119 lbs) ever since. She is 176cm (around 5 ‘8) tall.
On her YouTube channel recently, Seo shared her personal routine for recovering after sudden weight gain, saying, “I’ll show you my daily routine for how to bounce back the next day when you gain weight quickly.”
The first step is checking weight. Seo emphasized measuring body weight before and after meals, adding that one has to overcome the fear and stress of numbers and watching it fluctuate.
Her reset routine begins with drinking 2 liters of water a day, followed by portion control. Seo eats apples with peanut butter to fill up in the morning. For lunch, she eats rice, but no soup. Soup contains a lot of sodium despite it’s low calories. Oilier broths also contain more calories than one would expect. She has rice with vegetables.

For a mid-afternoon snack, she has a protein bar or a brown rice bar. For dinner, Seo only drinks 500ml of water. If she gets too hungry, she has a banana.
“At night, you need to fill your stomach with water. If I’m very hungry, I eat a banana. Filling up with water helps the body release it through urine, flush out toxins, and reduce swelling. If you step on the scale right after eating less that day, the number won’t drop much because of water weight. You’ll see the effect the next day.”
She also recommended 20 minutes of brisk walking as cardio to get rid of bloat and water retention.

Of course, this extreme routine is only done after weight gain from cheat days such as holidays. She lets herself eat regularly on other days, but she pays attention to moderation.
“I gain weight too. I can’t resist carbs and flour. I don’t only eat healthy foods, so I manage consistently,. If you want an easier recovery routine the day after overeating, you need to practice moderation while eating.”
