Actress And Boy Group Member End Their Controversial Relationship, Fans Rejoice

One-half of a celebrity couple has confirmed their breakup by sharing her current relationship status.

Ma Sichun (also known as Sandra Ma Sichun) is a Chinese actress known for her roles in films such as The Left Ear and in the series You Are My Hero. During a recent podcast appearance, Ma confirmed that she is now focusing on her personal and professional life as a single woman.

Her ex-boyfriend is Zhang Zhexuan, a member of PeniCillin. The two were first romantically linked in 2021 after they were photographed holding hands, and they officially revealed their relationship in August of 2022.  It’s unclear when, precisely, the couple called it quits, but responses to the breakup have reportedly been positive, as some of Ma’s fans didn’t approve of the relationship.

Over the years, the couple was repeatedly the subject of breakup and reconciliation rumors, and they reportedly split in April 2025. Last year, Zhang’s public image took a hit after he was seen at a Beijing hospital with bruises on his face. A witness claimed he may have been injured by a wine bottle. Soon after, Zhang was reportedly seen in the mediation room of a police station, leading to rumors that he had been involved in a physical altercation. Zhang had previously had controversies for alleged plagiarism and inappropriate behavior.

During the podcast, Ma admitted that she used to make love her top priority, but now she’s focusing on herself and her emotional independence rather than tailoring herself to suit a partner. She has no problem living her best single life, but she’s open to dating again if it’s with someone she has a meaningful connection with.
