Fans Rally Around Actor Lee Dong Hwi After He Cuts Ties With Troubled Best Friend
Following the growing online backlash against him, actor Lee Dong Hwi addressed reports that he had invited WINNER‘s Mino to the VIP premiere of his new K-Movie.
Previously, Mino was spotted at the screening event for Method Acting amid his ongoing trial for negligent military service. As the idol and Lee Dong Hwi are well known to be best friends, his sighting led to speculation that Lee Dong Hwi may have invited him. Both came under fire, with netizens calling them “birds of a feather.”
Then, during an interview with the press, Lee Dong Hwi directly addressed the matter, cutting ties with the troubled idol.

The actor’s clarification has since drawn support from fans, with many praising him for setting the record straight.

Meanwhile, Mino has been accused of violating the Military Service Act by failing to properly report to duty while serving as a public service worker since March 2023. He was referred to prosecutors in May of last year, and on December 30, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office indicted him without detention on the same charges. It is reported that Mino has largely admitted to leaving his assigned workplace during working hours during police questioning.
