A journalist’s baffling question to the lead actors of a popular movie has gone unexpectedly viral on social media, sparking heated discourse.

The incident in question happened during a press conference of Brave Citizen, a 2023 movie starring Shin Hye Sun and Lee Jun Young.

During the press meet, a journalist remarked that some viewers found the “chemistry” between the two lead actors in a certain scene “heart-fluttering” despite it actually showing a disturbing event, and asked if the director ever felt that this could also be the reaction to the scene.

The scene in question actually showed Lee’s character, a high school delinquent, forcing Shin’s character, a teacher, onto his lap and sexually harassing her.

The two actors were left completely flabbergasted by this question, and after taking a moment, Lee Jun Young bluntly responded that none of them felt that way during the scene.

While this particular press conference happened in 2023, it recently resurfaced on social media, sparking renewed backlash and criticism for the journalist. In fact, reactions got so heated that the original post was removed eventually.

Meanwhile, Brave Citizen is an action-comedy film adapted from a webtoon with the same name. The film follows an aspiring boxer and teacher, Si Min (played by Shin Hye Sun), who transforms into a vigilante at night and fights against a school bully, Su Gang (Lee Jun Young).
