According to a report shared by former entertainment journalist-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, Kim Soo Hyun was spotted in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong neighborhood by an acquaintance roughly 4 to 5 days before the video’s release. The sighting quickly gained attention, not for a public appearance or project update, but for the actor’s noticeably changed state.
The witness reportedly described him as looking “extremely gaunt and worn down,” sparking concern among viewers and fans alike. Lee Jin Ho suggested that the actor’s condition may not come as a surprise given the circumstances surrounding him.

One cosmetics company alone is said to be pursuing approximately ₩2.80 billion KRW (about $1.90 million USD) in damages, arguing that Kim Soo Hyun may have violated his contractual obligation to uphold a certain standard of conduct as an advertising model. The case has already seen two rounds of hearings, with both sides locked in dispute.
A third hearing, originally scheduled for late April, has since been postponed. Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team stated that proceedings were delayed in order to await the outcome of a related criminal case.
