It’s common for actors to change their appearance for roles, but sometimes the transformations are so dramatic that even die-hard fans can’t recognize them.
Actress Seol In Ah stars in Love in Disguise, starring alongside Im Siwan, in Love in Disguise. Siwan plays a chaebol heir who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case. A female detective and a former special forces member (In Ah), disguises herself as his male personal secretary to uncover the truth.
To make her gender-swap convincing to the male lead and to viewers, Seol In Ah underwent a transformation that couldn’t be more different than her famous Business Proposal look.
This teaser photo for Love in Disguise shows Seol In with short hair, glasses, and dressed in a mens’ suit.
The convincing transformation has impressed fans, who are looking forward to seeing the “woman disguised as a man” trope done right. Although many K-Dramas, such as To the Beautiful You, The King’s Affection, and Coffee Prince, have tackled the trope before, fans feel that some of them missed the mark because the lead actress couldn’t convincingly pass as a man.
