Male Idol Rumored To Be Secretly Married To His Staff Member
Rumor has it that a male star has married his assistant and kept their relationship a secret for years.
Singer-songwriter Chen Hsin Hung (also known as Ashin) is a member of the Taiwanese band Mayday. He is also standing in for an original member of the Taiwanese idol boy group F4 (also known as JVKV), Ken Chu, for F4’s reunion concerts.
Marriage rumors surrounding Ashin erupted across Chinese social media during Mayday’s final performance at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium after alleged insurance documents began circulating online.
The controversy gained traction when users shared screenshots claiming to show an insurance policy connected to the singer. According to the unverified images, Ashin’s longtime assistant Hong Wan Qi was allegedly named as the policy’s only beneficiary. On the documentation, she was reportedly identified as his wife.
Some netizens reportedly traced the alleged insurance policy back to May 2024, during a pause in Mayday’s Hong Kong concert schedule. The policy, allegedly worth approximately $2 million USD, is rumored to have been introduced to Ashin through fellow celeb Jay Chou, his close friend.
Speculation about Ashin’s relationship with Hong Wan Qi began over a decade ago. In 2014 and 2015, Taiwanese media outlets released photos that allegedly showed the two shopping together, visiting night markets, traveling in Tokyo, and appearing unusually close in public. At one stage, tabloid reports even alleged they had already been living together for several years, claims that management denied at the time.
Bin Music, Mayday’s management agency, addressed the situation, stating that the rumors are false.
