Rain And Kim Tae Hee Clash In Parenting Views
On the 20th, Rain appeared on tvN‘s You Quiz on the Block.

On the show, Rain confessed about his lonely childhood. He said, “I don’t remember anyone being by my side when I was young. I saved money on my own and went to amusement parks alone,” and added, “I try hard not to let my children go through what I did,” showing his genuine feelings toward his two daughters.
Rain said, “My standard of happiness changed to ‘making my children happy.’ When my children come home, I ask, ‘Did someone upset you?’ and then hug them. If my kids say, ‘Dad, I was happy today,’ I say ‘That’s enough.’ I tell them not to study too much, but my wife plans their study schedules,” mentioning the difference in educational views with his wife Kim Tae Hee.
He went on to explain that the reason he doesn’t push them to study is because “he likes seeing them play more.”
Having liked amusement parks because he wanted to escape his reality as a child, he said, “Recently, I took my daughters to an amusement park. When I can buy them everything they want to eat, all the frustrations I’ve had fade away.”
He added, “I hope my children don’t live too hard. To succeed, you have to work harder than others, and that can be stressful. Even if you succeed, you can be brought down by small things. I want them to live pursuing their happiness enough,” and shared his parenting philosophy: “Even if others don’t like them, I want them to be people who love themselves. I want to be a big tree they can lean on.”
