LE SSERAFIM’s New Album Facing Multiple Plagiarism Accusations
LE SSERAFIM‘s latest album PUREFLOW is already under fire, and it hasn’t even had time to settle.

The girl group’s title track “BOOMPALA” drew mixed reactions and online mockery over its charting performance, and now the B-sides are catching heat too.

Two tracks are at the center of a viral plagiarism controversy.
“Trust Exercise” is being compared to Benson Boone‘s “Mystical Magical,” with some fans saying the similarities are too close to ignore.

However, others have pushed back on that take. Both songs interpolate Olivia Newton-John’s classic “Physical,” which likely explains why they sound familiar to each other. It seems to be a case of two songs drawing from the same well, not necessarily one copying the other.
The second accusation involves “Sonder,” which fans are comparing to Madison Beer’s 2018 track “Dear Society.” That one has sparked more debate, with some arguing the similarities are surface-level at best and others insisting the resemblance is too big to be a simple coincidence.

Fan reactions on X have been all over the place. Some are convinced the album is outright plagiarism. Others think people are reaching, pointing out that airy vocals and similar vibes don’t equal copying.

Whether the similarities cross any real line remains to be seen. But the noise around PUREFLOW is getting louder, and not in the way Source Music would have hoped.
