Taeyong Spills On NCT’s Payment Settlement, Member Interactions, And More
Taeyong from NCT spoke about the group’s financial settlements, member interactions, and more.
Recently, Taeyong appeared on the YouTube channel ZIP DAESUNG. On the show, BIGBANG‘s Daesung mentioned NCT’s universe, saying, “In a way, NCT is like one big family. How do the settlements work? If you promote with NCT 127, do you also receive earnings from the other teams?” Taeyong responded, “No, the teams are definitely separate.”
Daesung then asked, “So, you can’t just say, ‘Let me try out for this team too,’ can you?” Taeyong thought for a moment and replied, “That would be okay, right? Like a mercenary?” showing a playful expression that made everyone laugh.
Taeyong continued, “There is a separate unit called NCT U, which is a coalition team formed that way. Depending on the concept, certain members who fit together promote as a team. This allows us to create more content that shows different sides of NCT.”
When asked about being a leader, Taeyong joked, “I don’t have an official leader title, but I am the oldest.” Speaking about his mindset after completing his military service, he said, “I regret my early 20s a lot.”
He explained, “Back then, I was very strict with the members. I was a scary hyung. I deliberately made the atmosphere tense during practice.” He added, “Even after debut, I was like that. At the time, it was the best choice I could make, but looking back, if I had been wiser, I would have become someone those friends with nowhere to lean on could rely on,” expressing regret.
However, he also said, “Still, I guess it couldn’t be helped,” and added with a smile, “If I could go back, I’d scold them the same way, just more intelligently.”
