Since then, there have been mixed reactions, including fans who have continued to protest, believing that Heeseung was forced out. Others saw the departure as his choice, criticizing him for making it.

“His Choice…” — Heeseung’s (EVAN) Recent Update Confirms His Departure From ENHYPEN Is Permanent

Recently, some of Jungwon‘s comments have been questioned.

On May 29, the idol appeared on Lee Youngji’s “No Prepare,” where he was interviewed while drinking as per the show’s premise.

At one point during the interview, the Youngji mentioned the idol group being in the “tricky” seventh year, and words of advice offered by Super Junior. Usually, idol contracts last for seven years, leading to something called the “seven year curse” or groups disbanding at that time.

Jungwon shared his thoughts earnestly, even stating that Jungwon was “nothing” without ENHYPEN.

He explained that because Youngji has always been a solo artist, she might not understand some of the aspects of being in a group. A little later in the interview, Jungwon says that the team succeeding is him succeeding, adding that he “never thought of a solo career even once.”

Jungwon said this was because they “started this together.”

Some interpreted this as “shade” towards Heeseung, also calling it “proof” that the former member left on his own accord.

On the other hand, fans defended Jungwon, saying that his personal feelings had nothing to do with Heeseung.
