K-Pop Idol’s Emotional First Win Turns Chaotic As He Breaks Trophy And Curses On Broadcast
Another idol has gotten his first solo win!
On the May 29 edition of Music Bank, the two songs nominated were NCT Taeyong‘s first comeback since his military discharge, “WYLD,” and ITZY‘s “Motto.” Ultimately, “WYLD” earned 6586 points and “Motto” earned 5924, leading Taeyong to secure the win, her first for the release.

This is also Taeyong’s first win in general, and the surprise and joy could be seen on his face as he gave his speech. The idol thanked fans, staff, and his parents, and showed love to his groupmates, saying he didn’t expect to win.
During the live encore, the idol was dressed in a dinosaur outfit as he performed. At one point, he squatted down and a soft thud can be heard as he empties his arms.
As it turns out, the idol dropped the first place trophy while setting the flowers down, breaking it.
Even more hilariously, Taeyong says “oh sh*t” when he notices, and places the top back on as his dancers react. As the idol exits the stage, he bends over to pick it up, knocking the top off the base, again.
Fans shared congratulatory messages for the idol, with many finding his little mishaps hilarious.
