Kim Soo Hyun’s Counterattack Begins, Kim Se Ui’s Assets Seized

Some of the real estate owned by Kim Se Ui, CEO of the Garosero Institute, has been partially frozen.

Actor Kim Soo Hyun has filed a lawsuit claiming damages of ₩12.0 billion KRW (about $7.96 million USD) against CEO Kim Se Ui in relation to his controversy with Kim Sae Ron, and it is reported that he is currently considering increasing the damages claim to around ₩30.0 billion KRW (about $19.9 million USD).

The court partially granted the request to freeze the real estate owned by Kim Se Ui filed by Kim Soo Hyun’s side. Kim Se Ui is known to own apartments worth over ₩10.0 billion KRW (about $6.63 million USD) in Apgujeong-dong’s Hanyang Apartment complex and in Seocho District.

The chief judge in charge of arrest warrants at the Seoul Central District Court recently issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui, who faces charges including violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, defamation, intimidation, and attempted coercion, stating that there is a risk of evidence destruction and flight. Kim Se Ui has been detained.

Kim Se Ui is suspected of repeatedly spreading claims and recordings via YouTube last year that the late Kim Sae Ron had been dating Kim Soo Hyun for about six years since she was 15 years old, a minor.

He is also accused of damaging Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation by fabricating false information and manipulating the late Kim Sae Ron’s voice using generative artificial intelligence (AI).
