Beloved Star Couple Reveals The Heartbreaking Reason They Won’t Be Having A Third Child

Actor Jo Jung Suk revealed why he and his wife, vocalist Gummy, do not plan to have a third child.

On May 29, 2026 (KST), in the actor’s new YouTube video, Gummy shared how she has been doing since giving birth to their second child. “I’m so happy. There are hard parts, too. The aching love has definitely doubled,” she said.

Jo Jung Suk then talked about Gummy’s strong maternal love.

In my opinion, it’s beyond average. It’s probably beyond what everyone imagines. With our first child and with our second child, I thought, ‘How can she be like this?!’ It’s not overprotective, but her love for the children overflows so much that her emotions fluctuate a lot, too. She even cries because she misses the kids.

But the couple will not be having a third child. Gummy said, “A lot of people asked about a third child as soon as I gave birth to our second, but my husband was the first to say that, for our sake, he didn’t think we could do that anymore.” Jo Jung Suk explained that seeing Gummy recover after childbirth made him worry deeply about her health.

The children are important, too, sure. But I started thinking that my wife’s health is more important… After she gave birth to our second child, while watching her recover, I felt so bad for her that I even thought I wanted to switch bodies with her.

Women really go through so much during pregnancy and childbirth. I heard that the moment a woman gives birth, it’s as major as being in a car accident. Because of that, the thought of a third child didn’t even cross my mind.
