The situation sprouted from a post Park made on X(formerly Twitter), joking about still getting asked to show ID when buying a drink in the US. The idol wrote, “That means they think I’m younger than 21.”

One netizen responded to this post in a rather aggressive tone, telling Park that bartenders were required by law to check every customer’s ID, adding, “You are not that important, nor good looking.”

While idols receiving such aggressive comments online is unfortunately nothing new, Park’s decision to respond was. He hit back at the netizen, saying, “I pray for u. One day u will be comfortable and proud of who you are and won’t need to put down others with an internet identity.” He concluded his response saying, “You’re probably like 12, LOL.”

The netizen also refused to back down, responding, “While you’ll be pretending to be black the rest of your life, I’ll be a lawyer,” prompting Park to reply again, implying that they could be making it all up for the sake of the argument.

Though the back-and-forth ended here, netizens were left baffled by the whole scenario, with some defending Park and others calling him out.
