Beloved Handsome Star Shockingly Returns To Acting After 17-Year Hiatus
Figure skating star Cha Jun Hwan is officially returning to acting, nearly two decades after stepping away from the entertainment industry.

According to Korean media reports, the 25 year old has been cast as one of the lead characters in tvN’s upcoming sitcom Palace Land. The project marks his first acting role in 17 years and a surprising new chapter in his career.
Many newer fans know Cha Jun Hwan as one of South Korea’s most successful figure skaters. However, before dedicating himself fully to the sport, he was also a child actor who appeared in several television dramas.

He first appeared in the 2006 MBC special K-Drama Miracle before taking on the role of Park Ki Woong’s younger counterpart in the 2008 drama When It’s At Night. He later gained wider recognition through The Return of Iljimae, where he played the younger version of actor Jung Il Woo’s character.
In Palace Land, Cha Jun Hwan will play Seong Dae Han, a handsome and outgoing amusement park employee who easily attracts attention wherever he goes. While he appears confident on the surface, the character is described as surprisingly clumsy and immature, with a deeper side hidden beneath the surface.
The sitcom follows a group of ordinary amusement park workers living in a dormitory as they navigate work, friendships, and everyday struggles. It has already attracted attention as tvN’s first sitcom in over a decade.
