Rapper CJamm Charged With Purchasing Over $10,000 Of Marijuana And Using Cocaine

Police reports indicate that he smoked marijuana because he thought that it would help him create new music.

Rapper CJamm, who was arrested for the illegal usage of marijuana, has been indicted by the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office and will be handed over for trial.

Before he was arrested, CJamm illegally purchased a total of 112 grams of marijuana on 10 occasions between February 2017 and April 2018.

The amount of marijuana purchased was equivalent to 16,050,000 won (approx. $14,840 USD)

In addition, CJamm is also facing charges for using marijuana three times with rapper VASCO (who recently changed his stage name to BILL STAX) and four other aspiring entertainers at a home in Seoul, between May 2015 through April 2018. They are also suspected of using 0.5 grams of cocaine in October of 2017.

Police reports indicate that CJamm admitted to smoking marijuana to influence his musical abilities.

“I thought it would be helpful when making music.” — CJamm

Police had initially charged CJamm for 13 instances of marijuana use as well as one instance of ecstasy use. A portion of the charges were dropped, however, because ecstasy and 10 instances of marijuana use could not be confirmed in a hair follicle test.

CJamm and Bill Stax’s agency, Just Music has released an official statement, apologizing for their artists’ mistakes.

“We apologize for the scandal. Our artists C Jamm and Bill Stax have admitted to their behavior and are taking responsibility for it.” — Just Music
