Block B’s Park Kyung Personally Admits To School Violence And Bullying

He claims he was a victim before he became a bully.

On 29 September 2020, Block B‘s Park Kyung made a shocking revelation on his personal Instagram account. Due to accounts by his peers made on online communities, he has stepped up to personally admit to the accusations.

He began by sharing that in his younger days, he was the target of bullying. This led to him later on to befriend the wrong crowd.

In elementary school, I was someone that only knew how to study. Hence, although I don’t know why exactly, I was the target of teasing and was looked down upon by my peers. I was smaller in size than my peers as well, and I held on to those memories as I entered middle school.

As he wanted to protect himself, he began hanging out with “delinquents”, thinking that it offered him some form of protection. This led to him being the bully instead of the bullied.

I didn’t like my model student image, and I liked being the centre of attention, so I came to see those whom some may refer to as “delinquents”, as cool. As I wanted to hang out with them and be close to them, I acted in a way that is shameful. I think I thought that if I was together with them, people wouldn’t be able to treat me lightly.

Park Kyung apologized for his past actions and immaturity, and acknowledges that the wounds he had inflicted on his peers will not be justified.

I am in deep regret over my immature days of adolescent puberty. I have been busy up to now, but I know that these are memories that those hurt by me, will be unable to erase. I know that these wounds will not be justified.

He ends off by requesting for the victims to contact him directly or via his company, Seven Seasons Entertainment.

I request that those hurt by me, directly contact me or even my company. I wish to approach you in person and apologize, and seek forgiveness.

Contrary to this admission, Park Kyung’s image prior to this has been positive, with him speaking out over unfair chart manipulation and being known for his high IQ.

Below is his full post, translated.

Hello. This is Park Kyung. I have seen the posts about my schooling days that have surfaced online.

I am sorry. I sincerely apologize to everyone, to those that were hurt by me back then, and to those that remember the past when they look at me and get hurt by it.

In elementary school, I was someone that only knew how to study. Hence, although I don’t know why exactly, I was the target of teasing and was looked down upon by my peers. I was smaller in size than my peers as well, and I held on to those memories as I entered middle school.

I request that those hurt by me, directly contact me or even my company. I wish to approach you in person and apologize, and seek forgiveness.

Although I am afraid that many will now see me as someone that is fake, someone who was acting, someone who’s past and present does not match up, I am writing this as I think it is less shameful for me to personally admit this, rather than go through a company statement.

Once again, I apologize.

— Park Kyung
