Popular Male Idol’s “Skeletal” Selfie Alarms Fans, He Responds

A post claiming that an actor lost an unhealthy amount of weight went viral, sparking concern for his well-being. The star in question has now addressed fans’ concerns.

Vanness Wu is a Taiwanese-American singer, actor, and former member of two boy groups: the Taiwanese idol boy group F4 and the Korean Mandopop duo Kangta & Vanness. F4 disbanded in 2009, but now three members of the group, including Wu, will soon be embarking on a reunion tour, starting on December 19.

A post claiming that Wu lost 20 kg (44 lbs) went viral soon after Wu posted this photo of himself. Fans were alarmed, with one reportedly writing, “He looks like a skeleton, kind of scary.” 

Some reportedly speculated that Wu had lost weight for the F4 reunion.

Wu addressed fans’ concerns with a video of himself showing his face from different sides. In the video’s text, he wrote, “Am I really that skinny?!” He laughed off the matter and explained that he’s just not good at taking selfies.

Selfie skills are really important, and obviously, I’m not good at them.
