Idol-Actor Found Guilty Of Assaulting Interpreter At Hong Kong Fan Meeting

His entertainment career is presumably over.

A former member of a popular boy group has been found guilty of sexual assault by a Hong Kong court.

On August 13, KST, Kenshin Kamimura, an ex-member of one of Japan’s the top-most boy groups, ONE N’ ONLY, was found guilty by the court of indecent assault and he was fined to pay 15,000 HKD (around ₩2.63 million KRW (about $1,910 USD)). Though Kamimura denied the allegations, the court rejected his defense after reviewing his actions before and after the incident.

The assault took place in March 2025, during a post-fan meeting dinner at an establishment in southern Hong Kong. The victim, an interpreter who worked with Kamimura for the event, accused the former idol of touching her thigh multiple times while in an intoxicated state, even though she turned him down multiple times. Kamimura then allegedly used a translation app to make indecent proposals to her, asking her to follow him into the bathroom, and touched her again.

During the hearing, Kamimura’s legal representative pleaded for leniency, citing his personal hardships, including the loss of his father at age 10, being raised by his mother and sister, and the hefty penalty he was already bound to pay to his agency after contract termination. He has also been stranded in Hong Kong since March, which his lawyer presented as a difficult situation for the idol.

Despite the judge’s strong rebuke, the ruling did appear to be merciful toward Kamimura. Judge Peter Yu remarked that despite the crime carrying a maximum penalty of ten years in prison, he was only given a fine, considering his expulsion from his agency, the 3 million HKS (around ₩520 million KRW (about $377,000 USD)) penalty, and the apparent collapse of his career.

Judge Yu also condemned Kamimura’s conduct, stating that it clearly showed a complete lack of respect for women.

Meanwhile, Kenshin Kamimura gained prominence with his performance as the protagonist in the 2024 TV show Our Youth. He has also appeared in other popular dramas, such as Ossan’s Lobe Returns and The Unknown Me. His contract with Stardust Promotion, the agency behind ONE N’ ONLY, was terminated, reportedly due to serious compliance violations, and he was eventually dropped from all group activities.

Kamimura’s conviction has been met with mixed responses. While a small group of supporters was spotted crying outside the court after the verdict, many also showed up to celebrate the conviction with cheers and banners.
