15-Year-Old Girl Group Idol’s Hotel Dating Photos Go Viral, Management Punishes Her
A girl group’s management has suspended a teen member for viral photos that she took at a hotel with a police cadet.
Gendis Mayrannisa is a 15-year-old member of JKT48 (short for JaKarTa48), an Indonesian girl group based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The group was formed in 2011 as the first international sister group of Japan’s AKB48.
Recently, photos of Gendis posing with a male police cadet at a hotel circulated on social media, sparking dating rumors and prompting fans to demand answers from Gendis and her management.
In her statement, posted on X on February 17, Gendis didn’t reveal details about the circumstances surrounding her hotel photos. She did, however, state that she has explained everything to her management and will accept whatever decision they make. Gendis promised to learn from her mistake and rebuild the trust she has lost.

In a statement posted on JKT48’s official website, the group’s management confirmed that Gendis had spoken to them about her hotel photos. They explained that Gendis’s activities will be suspended until May 17, due to the controversy her lack of self-awareness has caused. As such, Gendis will not appear in public performances such as theater shows, events, media appearances, and similar activities until her suspension is lifted.
