Idol Embroiled In Dating Rumors Reveals Her “Boyfriend’s” Identity
A girl group member has directly addressed her so-called dating photo, shutting down rumors.
Fujisawa Riko is a member of the Japanese girl group ≒JOY and a former member of COCO.COL♡R under the name RIKO. She left COCO.COL♡R in December 2020 shortly after going on hiatus and debuted in her new group in 2022.
Recently, a photo of Riko dining with a man spread on social media, leading to speculation about her love life.
Riko responded to the rumors in a video, giving much-needed context for the photo. The mystery man is her older brother, and the picture was taken at a family dinner. He had posted the photo about a year ago on his private social media story, not intending it to go public. In addition to clarifying the photo’s context, Riko jokingly said she felt embarrassed that she wasn’t wearing any makeup in the photo, and that it’s not her best angle.

On February 18, ≒JOY’s management also addressed the rumors in an official statement, urging the public not to spread unverified information that may harm the group’s members.
