Jealous Korean Boyfriend Allegedly Disfigures His Thai Girlfriend
A Thai woman asked for help after her South Korean boyfriend allegedly assaulted her, causing severe facial injuries.

On December 3, the woman, who had been hospitalized, posted in a Facebook group for Thai people located in South Korea, hoping to connect with a free interpreting service to help her communicate with the police. A Thai interpreter is now assisting her in taking legal action against her attacker by translating her statements and supporting her throughout the case.

According to the victim’s friend, who shared details about the woman’s attack on Facebook, the woman’s boyfriend attacked her while she was asleep, and later confessed that he did it out of jealousy. He allegedly poured boiling water on the woman’s face to disfigure her, to prevent her from leaving him to date other men.

After pouring hot water on her, the man apologized, begged the woman to forgive him, and begged her not to end their relationship. He also offered to take her to the hospital for treatment. The woman, who has no interest in continuing their relationship, allowed him to take her there, despite being angry and afraid, because, according to the friend, she didn’t have enough money to pay the hospital fees herself.

The woman told her friend that she wants zero contact with her ex-boyfriend going forward. All communication should be made through the authorities, such as the police or a lawyer.
