Netflix Drama’s Alleged Sexualization Of Minors Leads To Cancellation
In 2018, a television series about a mystical girl traveling and exposing toxic behavior in high schools through otherworldly means shot to extreme popularity, leading to a second season on Netflix. Girl From Nowhere season two, which aired in 2021, only increased the show’s popularity on a more global scale.

The show was on hiatus after the second season, but recently returned in a reboot called Girl From Nowhere: The Reset, starring “Becky” Rebecca Armstrong as a new version of the lead character, Nanno.

The new season was initially met with mixed reactions, as viewers adjusted to the change.
The show is now facing renewed criticism, this time having nothing to do with the acting in the series.
Like other shows, Girl From Now Where: The Reset has ventured into other fields off the screen, which has included a collaboration with a brand called Wacoal Mood. Wacoal Mood was launched in Japan and has multiple branches in other countries, and primarily sells women’s intimate apparel.
Clothing from the collaboration was spotted in early March, and features underwear, bras and other clothing like T-shirts.
Can someone confirm for me where this is being sold and whether it’s even real 🤣? Lmao what is thisss!!!

While these items are not inherently sexual, a display image featuring models dressed in school outfits while wearing the items, which appears to include a thong, was not well-received.

With Girl From Nowhere being set in high schools, some felt these image served to further sexualize school uniforms and minors.
Girl from nowhere supposed to be a wake up call against crime involving minor. Idk whose brain idea thinking collab with undies brand w/ model wear school uniform is a good idea. It's literally glorifying and sexualized minor innuendo. This is not me being too woke, it's weird. https://t.co/3zJ82YjZxU

Other than the fact that they could’ve school furniture as merch, Doing this litteraly goes against the criticism the OG serie does on school girls sexualisation, and ffs they’re in their underwear IN school uniform, this is an abomination of marketing. https://t.co/KM9CRbnZCd

As a result of the backlash, Wacoal Thailand announced it would be taking action and pulling the collaboration.
