Photo Of Convicted Ex-Idol Kris Wu In Prison Goes Viral — Police Address
In 2012, Kris Wu (Wu Yi Fan) made his debut as a member of EXO, although he later left the group in 2014 due to contract issues.
Following this, Kris had a successful career in China, appearing in films and collaborating with Western artists, and becoming one of the most well-known idols in the country.

However, in 2021, allegations of sexual assault led to Kris Wu being tried and convicted of the rape of three women and assembling a crowd to engage in promiscuous activities, receiving a 13-year sentence for the two charges. He was also fined 600 million yuan (around 84 million USD) for tax evasion.

Despite his conviction, he remains on the minds of many, and with his birthday recently passing on November 6, comments about the idol have been circulating again.
In particular, an image showing Kris, though with a blurred face, being questioned by a police officer quickly went viral as there are no similar images in existence.

The image, appearing to be very realistic, is indeed a real one; however, it is not of Kris.
Jiangsu Police addressed the photo, stating that it is a photoshopped image, with the real one being from a report about Hangzhou Prison. The actual image was included in a report about the photoshopped image.

Police urged netizens to avoid spreading misinformation, as other rumors about Kris continue to circulate.
