Recently, the announced break-up of a popular couple sparked viral commentary from netizens.

It is not uncommon for actors and actress to be paired together during their careers for projects. This is especially true for BL and GL (boy love, girl love) actors in Thailand, who end up appearing in multiple projects alongside their assigned partner and gain huge popularity.

Actors “Winny” Thanawin Pholcharoenrat and “Satang” Kittiphop Sereevichayasawat first appeared in My School President together, and subsequently Our Skyy 2 and We Are. 

On March 3, GMMTV announced that the partnership between the pair would be ending officially following a mutual decision.

Many fans shared mixed feelings about the announcement, which came as a surprise due to the planned projects announced for the two this year. Support was also offered for the pair’s solo endeavors.

Another question that arose was what would happen to the mascot of the couple, Samruay. Many acting pairings have been given a “child” in the form of a mascot that attends events and promotes the stars both in group activities and separately.

While it is not an actual “child,” the mascot is a real person whose career could also be affected by the sudden split, which added additional concerns.

idk but gmmtv artists showing comfort and sympathy to Ruay is like a way of them comforting the fandom, in an alternative way. Samruay represents WS fandom and there is also a person inside that mascot that needs comfort too. Even the actors itself comfort Ruay.
