Girl Group Member Suspended For Boundary-Crossing Exchanges With Her Manager
An agency is taking immediate action against one of its stars and a staff member who served as her manager.

The idol in question is Nakasaka Miyu, a member of the Japanese girl group SKE48. Miyu joined SKE48 as a trainee in 2018 and, as of January 1, she is currently a member of SKE48’s Team E subunit.
On January 8, Miyu’s suspension and the reasons for it were announced on the group’s official website. In this statement, SKE48’s management said that Miyu’s manager had engaged in unspecified communications with Miyu that went beyond their professional duties. According to SKE48’s management, the nature of these communications could be perceived as inappropriate and invite misunderstanding.

As such, Miyu will be temporarily suspended from idol activities, and the staff member will also be subject to disciplinary action. Furthermore, SKE48’s management intends to thoroughly educate relevant staff members to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

This sudden announcement has left some fans with more questions than answers, with some criticizing SKE48’s management and showing support for Miyu.
