Top Actress Arrested For Stealing $2 Sandwich

Japanese actress Anri Sakaguchi has been arrested for allegedly stealing a sandwich from a convenience store.

According to local media including Kyodo News on March 24, Tokyo’s Metropolitan Police Department’s Takao Police Station arrested Sakaguchi on March 17 on suspicion of theft at a convenience store in Hachioji, Tokyo. The sandwich was reportedly worth around 300 yen (approximately $2).

A store employee, who noticed suspicious behavior at the time, reported her to the police. Sakaguchi was apprehended at the scene and handed over to responding officers. She is said to have admitted to the charges during questioning.

Sakaguchi is the daughter of late renowned Japanese actress Ryoko Sakaguchi, who passed away in 2013. She was active in the entertainment industry before announcing her retirement in 2017.

Since then, she has remained at the center of controversy, including appearing in adult content, going through two marriages and divorces, and publicly revealing that she had undergone an abortion.

She has also been involved in multiple incidents, including being arrested for trespassing at a former partner’s residence. Following her second divorce in November last year, she had also taken to social media to share her financial struggles.
