Actor And Actress’s IRL Chemistry At A Fan Event Sparks Dating Rumors

Zhang Ling He and Zhao Jin Mai are currently starring in Our Generation, a coming-of-age series set in 1990s China. It follows a woman nicknamed Cherry (Zhao) from a small mountain town who becomes close friends with a mathematically gifted transfer student (Zhang). This is the second time Zhang and Zhao have worked together.
At a fan event in Beijing, China, they answered questions, interacted with fans, and more. Moments from the fan event have circulated online, particularly moments that showcase the actors’ chemistry, such as when they reenacted heart-fluttering scenes from the show. Zhao also helped Zhang apply lipstick on stage.
“We’re very close friends,” they playfully told fans. Given how close and comfortable Zhao and Zhang were at the event, some netizens are reportedly speculating that they might be dating in real life, but for now, it’s just that — speculation.
