15+ Events That Have Been Canceled Or Postponed By K-Pop Idols And Companies Following Itaewon Tragedy
This list has been updated to include additional schedule changes.
As details of the tragic events in Itaewon, Seoul, on October 29 continue to come to light, South Korea has entered a period of national mourning. Out of respect for the victims, many public and media events that were scheduled for the next few days have been canceled, including appearances, TV shows, and album releases.
Here are some of the events that have been canceled by K-Pop idols and their managing labels so far.
1. SM Entertainment’s Halloween party
The highly anticipated annual Halloween celebration hosted by SM Entertainment and its live broadcast was canceled.
2. INFINITE Sungjong’s fanmeeting
Sungjong canceled his Halloween fanmeeting, his first in Seoul in 13 years, due to the Itaewon tragedy.
3. ABYSS Halloween event
The company ABYSS, home to artists such as GOT7‘s BamBam and Sunmi, canceled their ABYSS Company Ghost Talk event, which was to see its artists read scary stories for fans.
4. NMIXX fansign and Halloween video
Soundwave announced that the NMIXX fansign scheduled for October 30 is to be postponed. The group’s Halloween-themed YouTube video, which was uploaded on October 27, was also recently taken down.

5. DKZ fansign
Boy group DKZ had to postpone their HALLOWEEN Special meet and call events which were scheduled for October 30.
6. KINGDOM fansign
KINGDOM’s Halloween themed fansign and video call event were postponed, with organizing company MAKESTAR set to inform winners of the new schedule later on.
7. TXT Halloween dance practice
TXT announced the cancellation of their “Eternally” dance practice, which was due to be uploaded on October 31.
8. 2022 BOF Busan One Asia Festival K-POP Concert
The 2022 BOF Busan One Asia Festival K-POP Concert, which was set to have performances by PENTAGON and MAMAMOO, was canceled. The groups expressed their deepest condolences for the tragic loss.
9. THE BOYZ content
IST Entertainment announced that the release of THE BOYZ content scheduled for October 31 has been canceled.
10. TO1 appearance
The broadcast of SBS‘ Love FM, in which boy group TO1 were set to appear, was canceled.
11. Running Man episode with BTS‘s Jin
BTS’s Jin was set to make his appearance on this weekend’s episode of Running Man, which was postponed in light of the tragedy.
12. BTS Jin’s listening party and lyric video
BTS’s Stationhead Listening Party, which was scheduled for October 30, and the release of “The Astronaut” lyric video, which was scheduled for October 31, were both postponed.

13. ENHYPEN content
ENHYPEN had content scheduled for release up to November 5, including a Halloween video and additional concept photos on October 30-31 and an episode of EN-O’CLOCK scheduled for November 3. They have been postponed.
14. EXO Chen’s album release
EXO’s Chen was to release his third mini album, Last Scene, on October 31. SM Entertainment informed fans that the release would be postponed until further notice out of respect for the Itaewon victims.
15. DRIPPIN album release and showcase
Woollim Entertainment announced the postponement of DRIPPIN’s upcoming album release and accompanying showcase, which were scheduled for November 1. Fans will be informed of new dates at a later period.

17. Aespa Giselle’s birthday live stream
Aespa’s Giselle was to celebrate her birthday with fans on October 30 through an Instagram live stream, which has now been canceled.
