The Itaewon Halloween Emergency just over a month ago saw 158 deaths and multiple injured survivors. Partygoers fell like dominoes in a narrow, sloped alleyway off the main street of Itaewon, near Hamilton Hotel. The pressure from bodies on bodies led to many being trampled and suffocated.

Survivors have stepped up to share their stories. Some bravely helped the injured, others ensured the people around them were safe. Many were carried to the hospital for treatment.

One of the survivors, however, was recently found dead in their lodgings. On December 12, 2022, around 11.40 pm, the police received a missing person report and rushed down to the scene in just 30 minutes. They uncovered a man in his teens dead in a room he had rented for the night.

The police suspect that he had decided to kill himself but are continuing to investigate. There were no other guests in the room with him. It was made known that he had been with his friends on scene at the Itaewon tragedy and was moved to a hospital for treatment.

May he rest in peace.
