Everything Gone Wrong At “2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon”

There were issues with lighting and camerawork.

The anticipated 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon was held on December 25 at the INSPIRE Arena. Yet, it’s garnered attention for the wrong reasons. While the lineup of artists was phenomenal, there were many technical issues that fans have called out for being “unprofessional.”

Here are 5+ things gone wrong at 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon

1. NCT Ten’s accident

Right before his solo, Ten fell in a lift while headed to center stage during NCT U’s performance of “Baggy Jeans.”

2. Artists’ names misspelled

Stray Kids was misspelled as “Stary Kids,” and (G)I-DLE was misspelled as “(G)-IDOL” during the broadcast.

3. Stray Kids’ performance

There were issues with the lighting, camerawork, and audio. NewJeans could be heard instead of the proper backtrack.

Additionally, SBS failed to upload Stray Kids’ performance, only to upload a version with a poor angle later.

4. THE BOYZ Juyeon’s performance cut

Juyeon prepared an exceptional acrobatic performance, but the cameras accidentally cut this portion out by capturing the audience instead.

5. Computer menu on screen

During ITZY‘s performance, a cursor and menu were shown on the screen.

6. Lighting and camerawork

It was not just THE BOYZ and Stray Kids whose performances were “sabotaged” by poor camerawork and lighting. There were issues during NCT’s and fromis_9‘s as well.

7. Ticket issues

There were issues with fraudulent ticket sales on the day of the event.
