Proving they’re a global group, the members of NCT speak many different languages and are more than a few different ethnicities. Based on where they were born and have citizenship, here are the nine nationalities found among the NCT 127, NCT DREAM, and WayV members.
As a K-Pop group, it’s expected that nearly half of the members were born in South Korea. Those members are Taeyong, Haechan, Jaehyun, Taeil, Doyoung, Jungwoo, Sungchan, Jisung, Jaemin, and Jeno.
Though YangYang spent years in Germany studying abroad and picking up the language, the idol was born in Taiwan.
While Yuta was originally the only Japanese member, born in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan, Shotaro recently joined the NCT family from Kanagawa, Japan.
Hendery was born in Macau, a special administrative region of China, where Cantonese and Portuguese are the official languages.
Johnny is Korean American, born in one of the largest cities in the United States: Chicago, Illinois.
Having Chinese and Thai heritage, Ten was born in Bangkok, Thailand, with Thai as his native language.
Though WayV is the group’s Chinese unit, they aren’t the only ones who were born on China’s mainland. Those members include Xiaojun, Kun, Chenle, Winwin, and Renjun.
Mark is a Korean Canadian born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
9. Hong Kong
Like Ten, Lucas has Thai and Chinese heritage. He was born in Hong Kong, another special administrative region of China, where Cantonese and English are official languages.
Between all the different languages and nationalities NCT has, they’re genuinely a group with global appeal.
