TOP 6 Most WTF Things Sasaengs Have Done (Besides Stalking Idols)
Sasaengs, also known as stalker fans, are known for obsessive and often dangerous behavior revolving around their favorite idols. Sasaengs might show up at an idol’s house, private schedule, or even travel with them. However, some creepy “fans” have gotten more creative. Check out the most WTF things sasaengs have done below.
1. Changed their in-flight meals on an airplane
TXT‘s Taehyun recently called out sasaengs in a now-deleted Weverse post where they were speculated of changing his in-flight meal without his permission.
I was about to go back to Korea after the fansign where I enjoyed my time with MOA. But someone changed the members’ in-flight meal by booking it in advance through seating. It’s not a big deal as we can just not eat it, but I can’t fathom why they did that, and just what kind of system allows one to change someone else’s [meal] like that. We ate before boarding, so don’t worry.

2. Auctioned strands of their hair on a thrift website
Yahoo Taiwan reported that a Chinese fan of IVE‘s Wonyoung had held a public auction for three strands of the idol’s hair on a second-hand thrifting website.
The starting price of the item was CNY 9,999 Yuan (approximately USD 1407 Dollars).
3. Impersonated other members during a live broadcast
During a livestream, SEVENTEEN‘s DK revealed that he was tricked into answering the phone when the sasaeng pretended to be fellow member Seungkwan.
He answered the phone thinking it was Seungkwan but (the sasaeng) called under Seungkwan’s name.
Sasaengs are so scary….

4. Send unwanted food to their house
Netizens couldn’t believe it when BTS‘s Jungkook had to take to Weverse to share what had happened to him at his own home.
Jungkook revealed that someone had sent food to his house.
Please don’t send delivery food to my house
I’m not going to eat it anyway.
I’m thankful for the thought, but I can eat well on my own.
So take care of your own meals, I beg you.
If you send it one more time, I will check the receipt order number and take action.
So stop it.— BTS’s Jungkook
5. Got caught lurking in promotional photo after its release
SEVENTEEN‘s The8 and and Jeonghan were filming for Superman Returns and released promotional photos of the event. However, before the official announcement of the show was made, fans began seeing preview photos of the members on set appearing on social media.
When looking at the official promotional photos for the show that were released soon after, netizens noticed something disturbing when looking closer at the photo.
Lurking in the background, a sasaeng fan was hiding behind a structure to take photos of the members.
6. Threw a brick at a trainee for dancing with their bias
Now a K-Pop lyricist and travel writer, Gina Maeng was a trainee for twelve years and spent some of those years at JYP Entertainment alongside future idols like the Wonder Girls. It was during that time she was attacked by a sasaeng.
She performed as one of Rain’s back-up dancers and fans were not pleased.
I was only on stage for two songs: ‘I Do’ the remix, that was the encore song at the end of the whole thing, and ‘It’s Raining’. So, I was one of the girl dancers, and we had the dance break where I actually get behind him.
My hands were around him—waist and chest. I have my leg up and down his thigh. That’s part of the choreography.

But when it was time for Gina Maeng to leave the concert on the first day, the managers knew she required protection. They denied her request to walk alone and warned her, “‘No, you’re gonna need protection. Because of the dance move.’” They were soon proven right.
So I walked out, and somebody threw a brick at me. Like, a full size, real brick…
It was a good aim. It came directly at me, and the managers had to protect my face from getting smashed.
