5th Gen Idol Allegedly Punished By Agency After Speaking Out Against Promotions

TripleS member Kotone has become the center of a heated debate after openly expressing frustration about her recent schedules — only for her company, MODHAUS, to abruptly announce her hiatus days later.

The timing has led many fans to question whether her “break” is really about health or a punishment for speaking up.

Through messages sent on fromm, Kotone shared how disheartened she felt about missing major Korean music shows and year-end ceremonies due to overlapping Japanese schedules for tripleS’ subunit Hachi.

Because I came all the way here and debuted specifically because I wanted to perform on Korean music shows. I cried a lot and thought about it over and over because of this. Music shows were the very reason I wanted to debut in Korea… And the Melon Music Awards, which mean so much to me because I even went all the way to Korea to watch them before I debuted… Not being able to attend all of them made me feel really left out.

She also admitted she had been pushing herself relentlessly so fans in every region wouldn’t feel disappointed, describing the emotional toll and the pressure of having simultaneous Korean and Japanese schedule demands.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve wished I had two bodies. And I hate that things have reached a point where people are saying that to me. My pride is completely torn up, and even though I’ve been working so hard, it feels like nothing is showing for it. It’s so frustrating. I want to create a schedule that Japanese WAVs, Korean WAVs, and WAVs all over the world can be happy with, so I don’t have the luxury of worrying about my own body or health. No matter how busy I got, I never wanted WAVs to feel disappointed in me. (T_T)

Shortly after these comments, MODHAUS released a statement announcing that Kotone would halt all activities — Korean promotions, Japanese events, fan signs, and end-of-year schedules — due to “fatigue and stress-related symptoms.”

Due to continued fatigue and stress related symptoms, Kotone recently visited a medical specialist and was advised to take sufficient rest and focus on recovery. Accordingly, Kotone will be suspending all activities for the time being to prioritize rest. Beginning today, she will not be participating in domestic schedules, tripleS∞! activities, Japanese offline events, fan sign events, or any upcoming schedules for the time being.

While the company framed the decision as prioritizing her health, the announcement immediately fueled backlash. International fans are overwhelmingly convinced that her removal is retaliatory.
