Actor Choi Jung Won Denies “Homewrecker” Allegations In Instagram Post — Vows To Take Legal Action
First-generation idol Choi Jung Won personally denied allegations that he had seduced a married woman.
Earlier, we reported that former UN member and current actor Choi Jung Won was being accused of seducing a married woman by the woman’s husband.
The accusations stem from a YouTube video in which YouTuber Lee Jin Ho alleged that Choi Jung Won met a married woman for drinks at the Han River. Lee Jin Ho then alleged that when the woman needed to use the restroom, Choi Jung Won suggested the pair go to his house, where the actor and woman are accused of becoming intimate.
Both wife and Choi Jung Won denied that any cheating occurred, although the wife later alleged that she had dated Choi Jung Won before her marriage.
On January 10, Choi Jung Won responded to the allegations personally on his Instagram account. In a post, the actor shares his side of the story and denies ever dating the woman and instead reveals that the woman was a family friend.
The YouTube video from yesterday was solely relaying the accuser’s side of the story… (The woman) is not a past lover but a family friend and dongseng that I have known for a long time.
The actor then goes on to allege that the woman’s husband had tried to blackmail and extort the actor. Choi Jung Won finishes the post by vowing he will be taking legal action against the husband.
The accuser sent countless threats and verbal assaults and tried to extort me for money. I will prove the truth in court and will be taking legal action for the losses I’ve incurred due to this incident.

The actor’s full statement is available below.
Hello, this is Choi Jung Won. I apologize that you were subjected to troubling articles about me, but the YouTube video from yesterday was solely relaying the accuser’s side of the story. (The woman) is not a past lover, but a family friend that I have known for a long time. I saw her profile on Kakao Talk (messenger app), so I asked how she was doing, and we met a few times to eat and catch up. When we met, we would spoke about how our families were doing, and in no instance did anything troubling occur, as alleged in the articles. After this, the accuser sent countless threats and verbal assaults and tried to extort me for money. It is regretful that the news outlets ran a one-sided story. I will prove the truth in court and will be taking legal action for the losses I’ve incurred due to this incident. Thank you.
