A recent press conference for Dream on April 18 revealed more behind-the-scenes facts about the film, such as how none of the football scenes Park Seo Joon is in are CG. He also shared that he gained more respect for professional football players after experiencing the difficulties of running on grass.

I’m honored to show a different a side of me. I was able to film the football scenes because of how they designed the scenes with technicalities, and I just had to practice that. Besides that, I strengthened my physical strength and tried to imitate playing. I prepared mainly on the lower half of my body. Once I ran on the grass, I noticed how different it is from the bare ground. It wasn’t as bad as sand, but I felt like it was holding my legs. I felt how amazing football players are and it made me cheer for them even more.

This will be Park Seo Joon’s first production in four years, after his K-Drama Itaewon Class, so he stated he was nervous. However, because the cast of Dream is full of senior actors, he was able to lean on them for help.

My previous production was Itaewon Class, which we all pulled through together but I had some emotionally difficult times. In Dream, there are more senior actors than my previous production, and there was IU so I was able to depend on them. More than working as individuals, it’s a production where teamwork is important so that helped.

He continued to show his respect for IU as a co-star and a fan by expressing how honored he was to film with her and that he didn’t see her as a “little sister.”

I’ve never felt like she was a little sister, but that she is a huge person. She’s someone who successfully chased two rabbits as a singer and an actress and it’s unbelievable. I was such a fan and I was happy to have the opportunity to be in a production with her.

Park Seo Joon even anticipated fans with hopes of another production with IU when he expressed how much fun he had with her.

In fact, we did well and had so much fun so I’m a little disappointed it’s over. I think it’ll be fun to meet again next time.
