According to reports on August 18, KST, a male was recently sentenced by the court for sexually assaulting his colleague multiple times during filming.

The actor, referred to as Mr. A, was reported to the authorities by an actress in her late 40s, Ms. B. She claimed that during two filming schedules in 2022, she was inappropriately touched by A under the guise of acting out a scene.
The content was being filmed to train an AI program to recognize specific situations in the video. Therefore, excessive physical contact or dramatic reactions from the actors were not necessary. Ms. B recalled that the first incident took place in November 2022, when they were filming at a convenience store. Before the cameras started rolling, A had agreed to hit her shoulder to stimulate a slap. However, A struck B’s right breast with his hand instead. B immediately complained to the director, but due to the atmosphere on set, filming was not halted.
The second incident occurred a month later, when they were shooting at a nursing home. Due to the previous instance of A’s behavior, Ms. B had requested in advance that he grab her shoulder instead of grabbing her by the collar to portray the desired scene. However, A broke his promise yet again and allegedly grabbed her right breast during the recording. Ms. B stopped filming right away, returned home, and filed a sexual harassment complaint against A.
Mr. A denied all the charges throughout the trial and insisted he never touched her breast. However, the court dismissed his claims based on the National Forensic Service’s analysis of the video evidence and the statement of the producer.
The court established that Mr. A’s actions were deliberate and constituted sexual harassment and sexual violence under the Artist Rights Protection Act. It also upheld the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s corrective order for A to undergo eight hours of sexual harassment prevention training.
In a separate criminal trial, A was found guilty of forced indecent assault and was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for one year.
The news has left netizens utterly disgusted, and many of them also criticized that the reports disclosed details about the victim but protected the identity of the perpetrator.

- “Acting is all about coordination, so actions like that without consent are definitely sexual harassment.”
- “Insane.”

- “Why are you revealing the victim’s age?”
- “Why don’t they reveal the perpetrator’s identity instead?”
- “Die, you crazy b*stard.”
